Often, that forecast for the region results in more snow on the area the local weather forecasters call the “Mountains.”
In our humble opinion, 1000 feet of elevation over Lake Erie does not constitute a mountain. However, as the leading edge of the Chautauqua Ridge, this glacial feature creates the microclimate we enjoy.
This bit of land was the Old Farm. If Wilderness Lodge had been built off this hill, we would have been out of the ski business years ago.
