If we had money. If we had known anything about cross country skiing. If we had wanted to create a business involving that sport. If those and other factors were true, we would have hired a team of consultants to find the perfect place.
Sufficient size. Proximity and accessable to people. Scenic and sheltered with groves of evergreens. Strong, tall, sustainable hardwoods. Rolling hills. Peaceful streams. Most important, snow in abundance.
None of this happened. None of this was planned. Choosing the location of the Lodge was pure luck.
